Drilling Management
Project Description
This advanced rare earth elements exploration project, situated north of Saskatchewan's Athabasca Basin, is entirely remote and accessible only by chartered float plane or helicopter. Spanning 35,682 hectares, the project boasts a modern camp with a 40-worker capacity.
Scope of Work
In 2022, RGS managed all technical and operational aspects of the client’s $7.8 million CAD exploration drilling and mapping program. This included overseeing the camp, which housed 40 workers, coordinating upgrades to the facilities, and facilitating the extraction of several small bulk samples for metallurgical testing. The 17,481 meter drilling program, was carried out from March through July with two helicopter-supported rigs.
Key Achievements
Record Productivity: Achieved 17,481 meters drilled in less than 5 months with two helicopter-supported rigs.
Cost Efficiency: Attained a record low cost per meter drilled for the client at $434 CAD all-in cost, covering camp maintenance, labor, drilling, helicopter, analyses, travel expenses, fuel, and catering.
Resource Expansion: Additional delineation of existing high-grade mineralization and the discovery of new high-tonnage, low-grade zones, significantly enhancing the mineral inventory.
Through our expertise and dedication, we successfully delivered a high-impact project, driving value for our client and its stakeholders
